Today, We are going to talk about the current tallest structure in this world, the Burj Khalifa. Burj Khalifa is the tallest structure that has ever built by humans. Its height is 829.8 m. Without the antenna 828 m.

1. Location and Name

It is located almost at the center of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The name of the skyscraper was 'Burj Dubai' in the initial stage. But then it was changed to the name 'Burj Khalifa' in honor of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab EmiratesKhalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

3. Cost and Duration of Construction

It cost 1.5 billion USD to complete the construction of the tallest structure. It took six years to complete and open it to the public.

4. Architectural Design

The architectural design of this magnificent structure follows the Islamic Architecture. One of the examples of Islamic Architecture is the Great Mosque of Samarra. It was built in Iraq in 851.

6. Dubai Fountain

Outside the tallest structure of this world, the largest choreographed fountain system is situated. It is named the Dubai Fountain. The amount of water that it shoots up to 152.4 m is 81,000-83000 L. It cost approx. 217 million US$.

7. Base Jumping

This tall structure has even been used for Base Jumping. Some even were unauthorized. In 2008, some people dressed up as engineers jumped from a balcony situated on the 160th floor.

8. Climb of Spiderman

Alan Robert who is also known as "Spiderman" climbed the Burj Khalifa on 28 March 2011. It took him 6 long hours to climb to the top. He usually climbs in free solo style. But under the UAE safety laws, he used a rope and harness.
